*Who is Şirin Pancaroğlu?
Exploring various musical identities for the harp is a fundamental endeavor for Şirin Pancaroğlu, who was praised by the Washington Post as "a great talent of international caliber." Pancaroğlu, who received her training as a classical harpist at the Geneva Conservatory and the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, is actively involved in the mainstream harp repertoire as well as in Turkish music, improvisation, contemporary music, tango and semi-staged performances. Regular collaborations with performing artists and composers from different backgrounds have led Pancaroğlu to cross boundaries between musical styles and produce music that is considered to pave the way for new genres.

Known for her in-depth interpretive skills and versatile personality, Şirin has collaborated on collaborative projects and She has presented concerts and made twelve recordings. She is also dedicated to sharing her musical roots with her audiences and connecting them to her universal ideas. Her work to bring the historical Turkish-Ottoman harp, the çeng, brought her into close contact with traditional Turkish music. Şirin, who first made transcriptions and arrangements from the traditional Turkish music repertoire, later began to compose music that is connected to tradition and beyond.

Şirin is the creator of the "Türk Harpı" project, which aims to introduce Turkish music to harpists worldwide. As the editor of "The Turkish Harp Music Collection", she is meticulously working on a selection of old and new Turkish music and some of her compositions. These works were published in the UK by 80 Days Publishing. She also organizes Turkish tune workshops for harpists based on these works, which are designed for lever and pedal harps and appeal to different profiles such as amateur players, students and professionals. Şirin, who has recorded twelve albums, is currently recording a series of singles that will become a new album called "Alaim-i Sema" (Rainbow) consisting solely of her own music. Şirin feels very lucky to have had the chance to receive the teachings of Susann McDonald, Catherine Eisenhoffer, Notburga Puskas, Pierre Jamet and Frederique Cambreling. She currently lives with her husband in Urla, a small town on the Aegean coast of Turkey, and has a 16-year-old son.
