Workshop

🎶Workshop: Eastern Rhythms; “Contemporary and Multicultural Forms”
Participants, whether amateur or professional, will be able to access and integrate syntheses stemming from the artist's multicultural knowledge in rhythm creation and performance through this workshop. Additionally, this workshop offers all music village participants a therapeutic journey involving the entire body, inspired by the calm and dynamic magic of rhythm.

Who is Mustafa Boztüy?
Mustafa Boztüy is one of the rare percussionists who presents traditional oriental rhythms in contemporary and multicultural rhythmic forms. He has developed a unique style with his masterful technique on darbuka, bendir, and oud.

Mustafa Boztüy was born in İzmir in 1957 and began his musical journey by learning mandolin and bass guitar. In 1976, he won a prize at the Denizli "Altın Horoz" music festival and subsequently worked with various Turkish folk-jazz groups.

Since 1979, Mustafa Boztüy has been living in West Germany, collaborating with renowned international cross-cultural musicians. His sensitive tones and strong improvisational enthusiasm add a distinctive color to various music projects.

In 1995, Mustafa Boztüy won the artist grant from the Lower Saxony state government in Germany and has received five awards from "Jazzpodium Niedersachsen."

International Jazz Festival İzmir (Turkey), International Jazz Fair Poznań (PL), International Jazz Festival Łódź (PL), “Jazz Week” Hannover (DE), “Nord Jazz Festival” Westerstede (DE), Bosphorus Festival Istanbul (Turkey), Ohrid Jazz Festival (Macedonia)

Among other concerts:
Krzesimir Debski, Nahawa Doumbia, Abdu Daghir, Urna Chahar-Tugchi, Kaigal-Qol Kovaligk ("HUN HUUR TU"), Sergej Starostin ("Moscow Art Trio"), Celina Muza, Lito Bringas, Stefan Abel, Rolf Zielke, Anoushirvan Rohani + Hannover Philharmonic Orchestra, Fahir Atakoğlu (+ Michel Camillo's rhythm section), Önder Focan, Dresden Symphony Orchestra (Anatolian Journey - Hasretim). In 2010, he performed with Turkey's legendary singer Sezen Aksu + Fahir Atakoğlu Acoustic Group in Carnegie Hall, New York, as well as many concerts across Europe and America.
