Who is Zhanna Aktürk?
Zhanna Aktürk began her music education at the age of 9 at a music school in Vladimir. After completing her studies there, she continued her education at the Vladimir Music College. In 2005, she entered the Gnesin Music Academy in Moscow, graduating with honors in 2010. In 2018, she pursued a master's degree in mandolin and baroque mandolin at the Saarbrücken University of Music in the class of Juan Carlos Muñoz. In 2020, she began her doctoral studies at Burdur Mehmet Akif Ersoy University, earning her PhD in 2024.
She has performed as a soloist in various concerts in Russia, Germany, and Turkey, and has won numerous national and international instrumental competitions, including the International "Yasuo Kuwahara Solo Mandolin Competition" held in Schweinfurt, Germany. In addition, she conducts masterclasses and presents on mandolin in Russia, Germany, and Turkey. For example, in 2019 and 2021, she delivered presentations and conducted masterclasses at the Moscow State Music Institute named after A.G. Schnittke during the "Domra-Forum." She is currently a faculty member at Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University, where she teaches various courses, including individual mandolin lessons.
